Funding and Prices
All children are eligible for Government funding from the term AFTER they turn 3 years old. Whilst this funding entitles the child to attend 15 hours a week, at Blues there is no compulsion to take the full entitlement. The full 15 hours can be taken as 5 mornings, or a parent may choose, say, 2 full days and 1 morning (subject to availability). We are committed to accommodating funded children for their 15 hours. We also allow children to attend additional hours that are paid for at our hourly rate (see below), subject to availability.
Further Government funding is available to eligible families as follows:
Eligible families are entitled to a further 15 hours a week (i.e. a total of 30 hours per week). This is often referred to as 'Additional Entitlement'. We are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of places for eligible children to attend up to 30 hours. These places are subject to availability and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please contact our admissions officer for more information or click here.
Some 2 year olds are eligible for Government funding which entitles them to attend for up to 15 hours per week. At Blues there is no compulsion to take the full entitlement. Parents often choose to start with 2 or 3 afternoon sessions. Click here to find out more.
From April 2020 our hourly rate is £5.75.
A morning session at Blues is 3 hours (9:10am - 12:10pm)
An afternoon session at Blues is 2.5 hours (12:20pm - 2:50pm)
An all day session is 6 hours (8:50am - 2:50pm. Children may also be dropped off at 9:10am for a full day session)
The full cost of these sessions will be covered by Government funding for qualifying children.
There is a charge of 30p per session for a healthy snack which is paid half termly. Funded children are not required to pay this, however a voluntary contribution of the same amount is kindly requested.
